TEACHER SHOWCASE:
This event will showcase some of the best professional dancers in the Philadelphia area at the beautiful Pivot Ballroom in Ardmore, PA. A wide variety of styles will be on display in one show. It's a great place to capture the variety of belly dance styles, and learn about the teachers and performers in the area. Come out for an incredible show, shopping for belly dance wear, costumes, and other sparkly treasures, and open dancing (there will be plenty of professionals to show you the ropes if you're new!). All ages welcome.

Recently they became an instructor at the Philadelphia Burlesque Academy and can’t wait to share their fan veil and bellylesque knowledge across performance styles. Khuzama is Delaware based, award winning professional belly dancer and instructor. She draws her influences from modern and classical Egyptian style, fusion with a hint of Lebanese Oriental. She has performed all over the country and taught at multiple festivals. Khuzama is known for performing to all types of music, while staying true to the roots of Middle Eastern North African dance.

Performer/Educator and Master World Percussionist started performing at his family’s renowned Middle East Restaurant in Philadelphia at an early age learning from the some of the area’s top international musicians. Joe plays regularly with several groups and ensembles encompassing many genres including: Jaffna, The Mid East Ensemble, Barakka, M’Oud Swing, Intercultural Journeys, Art Tolerance and The Roddenberries. Currently Joe performs several nights per week at Fabrika, one of Philadephia’s hottest Nightclub/Dinner Theaters.
Joe has played extensively throughout the U.S. and internationally with performances that brought him to Germany, France, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Portugal and Morocco on multiple engagements. Joe has been awarded several grants from the NEA, PAEP, and the U.S. State department.
For well over 20 years Joe has been creating and tailoring Music and Drumming Programs for kids and adults throughout Philadelphia and the region. He conducts regular World Drumming Workshops for the general public as an artist in residence at the University of Pennsylvania’s Museum of Anthropology and Archaeology and continues to work with Severely Emotionally Disturbed and Traumatized residential kids at Warwick House, women in recovery from addictions at Woman’s Space, At-Risk High School kids at Liguori Academy and Mastery Charter School, and adults from 70 to 90 years old at Waverly Heights.

Habiba is internationally recognized as a performer, choreographer, teacher and lecturer on dances of the Middle East. She has performed extensively throughout the United States and abroad in nightclubs and on concert stages. She is a leading researcher of the dances of Egypt and Tunisia and teaches belly dance as well as the traditional folkloric dances that have been performed and passed down for many years. Her teachers have included Ibrahim Farrah, Raqia Hassan and Mahmoud Reda. As a result of her field work she has published numerous articles for national dance magazines. In 1997 she was inducted into the AAMED Belly Dance Hall of Fame.
