Amalia began studying belly dance at a young age in her hometown of San Francisco, she has been teaching and performing throughout the Philadelphia area for the past 15 years. Including nearly a decade teaching the belly dance club at Swarthmore College. She is passionate about helping women find confidence, power, fluidity, passion, sensuality, and ease in their bodies through this beautiful dance form. She teaches classes, workshops and private belly dancing classes in the Philadelphia area, including Main Line School Night.
As a belly dance performer she has appeared at venues and dance events along the East Coast and in her home state of California. Some highlights include performances at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Queens Theater, World Café Live, opening for the Belly Dance Superstars Philadelphia show, and being chosen as one of 25 dancers from around the world to participate in the Project Belly Dance competition. Her energetic and dynamic performances have captivated audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Her love of and commitment to belly dance and desire to share her enthusiasm has made her a highly respected and sought after performer and instructor.
